Why is the Lumen Output
Lumens measure the amount of light that
is produced by the bulb, whereas the Watts measure the amount of energy
required to power the bulb. Therefore it is important to compare bulbs by their
lumen output, as some bulbs are more efficient than others and more power does
not necessarily result in more light output.

light from the bulb – the larger the percentage of the angle, the larger spread
